Tell us about your work with seabirds.
I conduct applied research and conservation with seabird species across the Pacific to design and implement conservation solutions to protect their breeding habitat. My goal is to test the efficacy of conservation interventions in improving demographic parameters and various life history charactertistics.
What advice would you offer to individuals aspiring to pursue a career as seabird scientists?
Be prepared to always learn new things. Whether it is how to be uncomfortable for extended periods of time in the field, to how to do coding to analyze your data. The more flexible and curious you are, the more you will learn and enjoy the field. And always learn to appreciate their smell!
