Tell us about your work with seabirds.
I research social behaviour and individual recognition of Atlantic puffins.
What advice would you offer to individuals aspiring to pursue a career as seabird scientists?
If a bird sh*ts on you, it is definitely good luck. And being a seabird scientist is not for everyone. Remote islands, bird poop, steep cliffs, boat rides, mud: people either love this or hate it. Volunteer with a lab to try it out first. It is not glamorous but it is absolutely beautiful work.
