Tell us about your work with seabirds.

I recently finished my master's work on studying the foraging habitat for Threatened Steller's eiders at a historically important molting location, Izembek Lagoon, Alaska. I have assisted on various sea duck projects across the state of Alaska.

What advice would you offer to individuals aspiring to pursue a career as seabird scientists?

My advice would be to not be afraid to reach out to those conducting work you are interested in and ask about potential opportunities to get involved! Also, I would advise aspiring scientists to stay connected with their previous employers, colleagues, and mentors who support you as the connections you make in this field go a long way!
